With Kiwa Green Certified products Centraltubi builds trust and helps customers and organizations minimize their environmental impact, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
Kiwa Green Certificate demonstrates the compliance of Centraltubi Cable Protection Recycled Polyethylene Pipes with the valuation guideline BRL K15014 used to certify products, materials and processes that meet requirements resulting in improvements in:
- Environment and sustainability aspects;
- Product and processes meeting functional requirements;
- Labour aspects of workers.
With the quality and procurement System Centraltubi covers Kiwa requirements of sustainability, essentially based on the principles of the guidance standard ISO 20400 and the International Labour Organization and, in accordance with the Kiwa Regulations for Certification, the product and the process are assessed under the scope of the quality aspects and the functional requirements defined by the Covenant K-0215743. This Covenant has been prepared by the Technical Committee for recycled plastics of Kiwa Nederland B.V, accepted by the Kiwa Committee for Covenants and applies to ground-laid polyethylene pipes made of recycled high density polyethylene (PE-HD), which serve as cable protection pipes intended to be used for the protection and the management of insulated conductors and/or cables in electrical installations or in communication systems. The pipes are expected to maintain its fitness for functionality for more than 50 years on providing protection to the cable, the user and the surroundings for normal use with electric power and auxiliary cables when buried by directional drilling and/or trenchless construction methods.
With this certification, we can guarantee the same performance as pipes made from virgin material by using polyethylene derived from recycled plastic waste, with a reduction in GWP emissions during production of over 40% and a saving of approximately 1 kg of CO₂ per kg of pipe installed, quantified using the Centraltubi Eco Design Tool, verified by an accredited body.
