High Density Polyethylene pipe of PE100 – RC type for aqueducts and fire applications, for pressurized fluids supply and usable for transport of liquids for human consumption. The material has a high shock resistance. It is particularly recommended in unstable soils and has excellent corrosion resistance even in aggressive soils and in the presence of stray currents; therefore, it can be bedded without protections. The smooth internal wall surface results in reduced pressure loss and the low roughness of the material prevents the occurrence of scaling. Polyethylene is resistant to a wide range of chemicals and solvents and to most biological agents present in the soil. In installations with “trenchless” techniques (similar to negligent poses “without sand bedding”), point loads and incisions can originate on the external wall leading to pipe break through the mechanism of slow crack growth (SCG). RC pipes are produced with PE100 with high SCG resistance checked through various tests, among which FNCT (Full Notch Creep Test) and PLT (Point Loading Test) that determine a resistance value ≥ to 100 years to severe damage, either real or under point load test conditions.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION (type1)
RC pipe (Resistant to Crack) of TYPE1 for pressurized water underground networks, made of High Density Polyethylene PE100 resin with high resistance to slow crack growth, pigmented and granulated at source, black with blue coextruded stripes, fully complying with UNI EN 12201, ISO 4427, UNI EN ISO 15494 and technical specification DIN PAS 1075, both included in the “technical specification IIP MOD. 1.1/14 – Rev. 0″ with issue of Piip/C quality mark. Pipe samples shall have successfully passed all the tests required by the reference standards above, including the PLT (Point Loading Test) for resistance to slow crack growth > 8760 h. The marking shall report the code of the raw material used for the production of the pipe, as well as other elements required by the reference standards.
